The DeMatha Shadow Program

It is recommended that you experience a "typical" day at DeMatha by attending class with a current student as a Shadow. Our Shadow Day schedule is as follows:
- Arrive at 8:15 a.m. (Music students arrive by 8 a.m.) Report to the Admissions Office located in St. John DeMatha Hall
- Dress appropriately for school attendance. (Shirt and tie, no jeans or sneakers)
- Lunch is provided.
- Day ends at 2:00 p.m. Pick up at the St. John DeMatha Hall.
Please call the Admissions Office at 240-764-2210 to schedule an appointment after September 8th. Visits begin September 15th and end in early February. Space is limited so please call early for an appointment.

Parents and prospective students are invited to join us on Sunday, November 9th, to tour the campus and learn about DeMatha -- academics, arts, music, athletics, service, co-curricular activities and plans for the future. Meet our outstanding faculty and talk to students about classes and activities at DeMatha. Your high school experience should provide you with both information and formation. DeMatha strives to develop young men as Gentlemen and Scholars, to allow each student to reach his potential. As you choose a high school that will best prepare for you for college, we hope that you keep in mind the unique features that make DeMatha Catholic High School one of the finest high schools for young men in the area.

DeMatha is located just off Route 1 at 4313 Madison Street in Hyattsville, less than two miles south of the University of Maryland. Traveling south on Route 1, it is on your right shortly after crossing Rt. 410 (East-West Highway). Parking is available in two locations:
- Traveling south on Route 1 from East-West Highway: At the third light, make a right on Madison Street. Parking lots are on both sides of Madison Street.
- Additional parking is available behind the school: Traveling south on Route 1 from East-West Highway: At the fourth light, turn right at the light at Jefferson Street. Make another right on 43rd Avenue (not Street or Place). School parking lot is two blocks on the right.
